The Honor 9X Pro with a Kirin 710F chipset launched as a Huawei Y9s in some local markets

Huawei launched the Honor 9X Pro at the end of July. Recently, some local Huawei markets received a downgraded version of this model dubbed Huawei Y9s.

Both handsets are almost identical, the only difference is the chipset. The new device is based on a Kirin 710F system-on-chip, while the Honor 9X Pro relies on a Kirin 810 chipset.

Both models feature 6.59-inch FHD+ displays with 16MP pop-up selfie cameras. The back is adorned with a triple camera setup that includes a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide snapper and a 2MP depth-sensing unit.

The power button on the right frame has an embedded fingerprint sensor. Power is supplied by a 4000 mAh battery.

There are 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. A USB Type-C port is also on board. The Huawei Y9s costs
